RECAP: COVID-19 Lessons Learned and Planning for the Future
Updated: 3 days ago
What will be the legacy that's left after COVID-19? From what I can tell as we sit here today, it will be continued unemployment, millions still without healthcare, workers having to go to work when sick, over 100,000 dead, and growing wealth inequality …. unless we do something today! And what is that action that we need to take TODAY? Politically, that action is to vote for DEMOCRATS up and down the ballot in November …. VOTE for Joe Biden for President, VOTE for Carolyn Salter, Colin Allred for Congress, FLIP THE TEXAS HOUSE, AND get Joanna Cattanach elected and get John Turner Reelected! In Joe Biden's first 100 days, he can pass groundbreaking legislation and make paid sick time a federal law. We can also increase the minimum wage to $15 an hour, invest billions in renewable infrastructure projects, and provide health insurance to EVERY AMERICAN by passing universal healthcare and MEDICARE FOR ALL. But we have a lot of work to do. It's time to be strong and push forward with strong leadership and legislative agendas. After all, if we allow Republicans to control the agenda, the RICH WILL GET RICHER and everyone else will be left fighting for table scraps. We can't let that happen. Now that the stage is set let's hear from a few of those that will be on the front lines of the economic recovery, ensuring we emerge stronger on the other.
